Lily
Lily became a member of our family on the 22nd of May and was, understandably, very shy in her foreign surroundings. We adopted Lily from Stafford Rescue. She’s a beautiful, six year old Stafford and is very pretty. She was previously named Leah by her former family, however we wanted a name in alignment with her looks! Donna was calling her Lea Lea for short, so it was an easy transition to Lily.
We have another Stafford, a boy by the name of Kuruk. He’s three and a half, and we’ve had him since he was a puppy. We wanted another Stafford because we love them so much, and for he/she to be a nice friend for Kuruk, also. Lily certainly fits the bill and has made a smooth transition into life in our home! Kuruk and Lily get on like a house on fire and are very comfortable with each other! Even though we bought new Kongs and other chew toys for Lily, Kuruk decided that he would share his rope toys with Lily and frequently nudges her with his toys to play tug of war! Lily loves chewing her toys and finding a couch or bed to lie on and to be comfortably right at home!
Lily is no longer shy; we come home to not only the joy and jubilation of one overexcited Stafford welcoming us home and almost bowling us over with affection, but two! Lily is so cuddly and loves nothing more than to sit still for a nice, long pat and for a scratch under the chin! She is such a placid and beautiful girl and is liked immediately by our family and friends who meet her. We have a friend who’s not a dog lover, but has always been fond of Kuruk and, upon meeting Lily, her fondness of dogs, especially Staffords, has skyrocketed –we aren’t surprised by this at all!
Lily has such a lovely temperament and we feel blessed to have such a wonderful dog like Lily. We are so happy to have her as the newest addition to our family and cannot imagine life without her.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank Linda, Jan & Donna (and any other people) at Stafford Rescue who work tirelessly looking after these Staffords and re-homing them. You truly are inspirational and compassionate people, and we really admire you for this.
